 ICE BREAKERS.

1. "What's your name? My name is..."

In this video, you'll learn a quick and easy way to break the ice and help students become more comfortable speaking English with this fun clap name game.

If you're about to teach your first English lesson to new students who might be nervous, and you're unsure where to begin or what to do, this clap name game is a fun way to create a welcoming environment and encourage students to get to know each other, even if their English skills are limited.

In this activity, students channel their energy, coordinate their movements, and introduce themselves, promoting teamwork and building rapport among them.

Begin slowly and see how fast students catch on to the beat and have fun introducing themselves! They'll learn each other's names super-fast, and it's a unique way to step away from the usual "What's your name? My name is..." routine.

2. " Hello! My name is...." (ball-game)

✏️ Steps

Design the layout of a nursery school.
It can be real (a school you know) or imaginary (your dream nursery).

🎨; Add colors, symbols, or small drawings to make it attractive.
  • In the next class, present your plan to your classmates.
  • Say at least 5 sentences using the vocabulary.
    Example:
👉 “This is the playground. Children play here.”
👉 “This is the nap room. Children sleep here.”
📅 Deadline: ------ September.

Interviewer (I) & Candidate (C)

I: Good morning. Can you introduce yourself?
C: Good morning. My name is [Name]. I studied Early Childhood Education, and I have experience working with young children in a nursery. I am enthusiastic, patient, and creative.

I: Why do you want to work in our nursery?
C: I love working with young children. I want to help them learn, grow, and feel safe. Your nursery has a very good reputation, and I would like to be part of your team.

I: What experience do you have with children?
C: I did my internship in a nursery for six months. I helped with activities such as singing, storytelling, outdoor play, and meal times. I also learned how to manage routines like nap time and tidy-up time.

I: How would you handle a child who is crying or upset?
C: First, I would stay calm and speak gently. I would try to understand why the child is upset. Sometimes they need comfort, a toy, or a distraction. If necessary, I would inform the teacher or speak with the parents.

I: Can you give an example of an activity you would prepare for children?
C: Yes, I would prepare a gardening activity. The children could plant seeds, water them, and watch them grow. This activity teaches responsibility, nature, and patience.

I: What are your strengths as an educator?
C: I am patient, organized, and I enjoy planning creative activities. I work well in a team, and I am responsible.

I: Do you have any questions for us?
C: Yes. Could you tell me more about the daily routine in your nursery?
